PHOENIX - Several businesses were ordered to evacuate after a natural gas leak in the Maryvale area Monday.
According to Phoenix Fire, the natural gas leak near Interstate 10 and 51st Avenue occurred just before 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
The gas leak was created after a two vehicles collided and crashed into a landscape area that contained a 2-inch natural gas line.
One person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The area, that was closed for several hours, reopened around noon.
