Police seek man in armed robbery of Phoenix Bashas' grocery store

PHOENIX - Authorities need help identifying a suspect connected to an armed robbery of a Valley grocery store.

Sgt. Darren Burch said a male entered the Bashas' grocery store near 7th Avenue and Osborn Road on March 13 and pointed a handgun at an employee's head before demanding money from the register.

The suspect also pointed the gun at other employees and customers who were approaching the front of the store, he said.

The gunman fled after receiving an unknown amount of money.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American male, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches with facial hair.

Burch said the suspect also shows signs of skin pigmentation loss on his face. The suspect was wearing a dark grey hoodie and was armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. Authorities are offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
