PHOENIX - Authorities are investigating why intruders broke into a Valley home and kidnapped three people, including a 4-year-old child.
Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department said three Hispanic individuals, wearing masks, burst into a family's home near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road around 11:30 p.m. Friday evening looking for a specific individual. When that individual couldn't be located, the three men forced a male, female and a 4-year-old child to leave the house and enter a vehicle.
Martos said the family was released early Saturday morning. Police did not talk about their conditions or say where the victims had been taken.
Neighbor Laura Gonzalez told ABC15 when she heard a young child had been kidnapped her heart dropped.
"It's really horrible thinking about the kid. Or if they took all the kids," she said. "It's horrible."
Authorities are looking for a maroon Nissan Maxima four-door car. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
