PHOENIX - Authorities are working to track down a mental patient who escaped from a facility in the northeast and is accused of murdering his grandfather in Las Vegas.
Now, authorities have been alerted that he could make his way to the Valley where members of his family live.
KTNV reports that 43-year-old Steven Dale Woodard escaped from a facility in the northeast and traveled to Las Vegas where he is accused of killing his 91-year-old grandfather Monday night.
Authorities said Woodard lived in Ahwatukee at one time and has family that still lives in the area. Family members told ABC15 that Woodard made threats against his family within the past six months.
