Police in Phoenix have blown up a backpack that was left unattended in a downtown parking garage.

They say officers responded Monday morning to the garage near Fourth Avenue and Adams Street to investigate the unattended backpack.

Police used bomb-disposal robots to inspect the backpack and it was destroyed.

They say it appears as though the backpack was just an unattended package and posed no threat to the public.

Police say their investigation is continuing, however.
