A Phoenix woman accused of mailing a powdery substance to the Maricopa County Sheriff's downtown headquarters to get her ex-boyfriend in trouble has been sentenced to two years of probation.

County Superior Court officials said Tuesday that Alma De Paz Pacheco's sentence was the result of an agreement reached earlier this year in which she pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation to commit a hoax.

Discovery of the substance led the sheriff's office to evacuate a floor of its building last August. Tests later showed it was cornstarch.

Detectives investigating the case located a man listed on the envelope's return address. He told them his former girlfriend threatened to get him in trouble by mailing cornstarch to police.

Sheriff's deputies had said Pacheco admitted sending the letter.
