PHOENIX - Robbery suspects trying to flee from police, ended up crashing their car into a wall Sunday morning.
Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes said the incident started around 2:15 a.m when the suspects took a 19-year-old man's car at gunpoint near 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
Holmes said police located the stolen car around 4:30 a.m. near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the car sped off. The driver of the car lost control and ended up crashing into a wall near 59th Avenue and Van Buren.
Police detained the four male subjects inside the car, all under the age of 18.
Two were identified as suspects, and the two others were considered persons of interest, Holmes said.
One of the juvenile "persons of interest" was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities said the robbery victim was not hurt.
Holmes said initially, one of the suspects was described as a 26-year-old male but was later identified as a 16-year-old.
So both suspects were taken to the Juvenile Correction Center, Holmes said.
