Phoenix police: Two teenagers hurt after trying to snap photo while riding ATV in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Authorities said two teenagers were injured when the ATV they were riding on crashed into a parked vehicle Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Steve Martos, spokesman for Phoenix police, said the 12-year-old and a 16-year-old females were attempting to take a picture while riding an ATV near 36th Avenue and Minnezona.

The ATV crashed into a parked vehicle, he said.

Both females were transported to a local hospital, where one is in extremely critical condition, he said.

Sgt. Martos said the 12-year-old was treated and released from the hospital.

The 16-year-old remains in critical condition as of early Sunday afternoon.
