Phoenix police in standoff situation after domestic violence incident

PHOENIX - A standoff in Phoenix is over Wednesday night, but neighbors don't feel any better because the gunman is on the loose.

Sgt. Steve Martos said officers were called to a home near 6th Street and Roeser Road around 5:30 p.m. to investigate a domestic violence situation.

Martos said when police got inside the house, the man they were looking for wasn't there.

Authorities said the man got into a fight with his mom, who he lives with, and fired a gun in the backyard.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.
