Phoenix police chief's uniform stolen from laundry

PHOENIX - Phoenix Police Chief Daniel Garcia was a victim of theft last week when his uniform was stolen from a Phoenix laundry.

KTAR reports the chief left two uniform shirts and a pair of uniform slacks at the Suntown Laundry and Dry Cleaning near Northern Avenue and 12th Street.

The business was burglarized and the suspect or suspects allegedly left with the chief’s clothing.

Police said the main concern is when someone who’s not a police officer gets hold of a police uniform and uses it to impersonate an officer.

The uniforms were described as a typical blue uniform worn by Phoenix police, including emblems. They would not be identified as the chief's, however.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call the Phoenix Police Department.
