Authorities are searching a canal in connection with an older case.
Video from Air15 showed at least one police diver searching the canal near 12th Street and Indian School Road Tuesday afternoon.
A Phoenix Police Department spokesman said officers are looking for evidence in connection with a previous investigation, and they are not looking for a body.
An ABC15 reporter on the scene observed police conducting what appeared to be a grid search, with one person in the water occasionally placing items from the bottom of the canal up on the bank. Police were slowing working their way west.
