Phoenix police arrest two suspects in double homicide in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Phoenix police said they've arrested two men in the killings of two people shot in an apartment where a 4-month-old baby was found unhurt.

Police identified those arrested as 24-year-old Richard Luzania and 20-year-old Christian Arguelles.

Both were booked into a Maricopa County jail Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder and other crimes.

According to police, Luzania is a former boyfriend of one of the victims, 20-year-old Alexis Garcia. The other victim is identified as 17-year-old Fabian Valenzuela.

Garcia's father and mother spoke with ABC15 telling us that Luzania is also the baby's father.

"He didn't care about that baby to do something like this," said Robert Munoz. "He took our whole world away."

Munoz tells ABC15 that since the murder, he is learning that his daughter may have been a victim of domestic abuse by Luziana.

He tells us the two suspects are cousins.

"Richard (Luziana) was jealous," said Munoz. "I don't know how jealously made the cousin do this. There is more to it than meets the eye."

Police said the two men confessed to the killings.

Garcia also leaves behind a four-year old daughter. The kids are with other relatives.

Police said officers went to the apartment Tuesday morning in response to a call about shots fired.

The child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
