PHOENIX - A Valley woman was robbed of her child's diaper bag and wallet as she was returning her shopping cart in the parking lot of a local business last month.
Phoenix Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a Hispanic man who allegedly stole a 34-year-old mother's diaper bag -- containing her cell phone and wallet -- from her vehicle outside of a Costco Store near the Loop 101 and Cave Creek Road on July 30th.
The woman told police she was returning her shopping cart to the designated receptacle when she saw the man shuffling through her car, said Officer James Holmes of the Phoenix Police Department.
The suspect fled through the parking lot, according to police. The woman couldn't chase after him as her own child was in a car seat in the back of the car.
The next day officers were notified that one of the victim's credit cards were used at a local business near 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive in Phoenix. Police obtained the store's surveillance video.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, about 5-foot-9, heavy build and has a mustache and goatee.
The suspect was seen in the surveillance video wearing a blue shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
The Phoenix Police Department is encouraging "citizens to be ever cognizant of what's going on around them, especially when shopping and in parking lots. The series of events in this investigation indicates the suspect may have been watching the victim's movements as she left the business and went to her car."
