PHOENIX - Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton is traveling Friday to Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico to discuss cross-border trade and economic opportunities.
The mayor will meet with Sonora Governor Guillermo Padrés Elías as part of the Arizona-Mexico Commission's Annual Fall/Winter Plenary Session, according to Phoenix spokesman Christian Palmer.
"Mexico is Arizona's largest trading partner, but we all recognize that more can be done to increase our trade and create jobs," Stanton said. "Much of our future success will depend on strong alliances with foreign trading partners like Mexico and our efforts to build a more diverse economy."
This will mark the sixth time Stanton has visited Mexico to discuss cross-border relations.
