Phoenix lightrail crash: Car crashes head-on into train, driver arrested

PHOENIX - A driver has been arrested after crashing head-on into a Lightrail train in Phoenix.

Police said the car crashed into the train around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning near 24th Street and Jefferson.

Emergency crews had to pull a female passenger from the wreck, according to Phoenix police.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested.

The Lightrain train has 11 passengers on-board and no one was injured, according to police. There has been no word on the woman's condition or potential charges against the driver.
