PHOENIX - Authorities said five teenagers have been critically injured in a rollover accident along State Route 51 Monday afternoon.
Phoenix fire officials said the teenagers--ages 14, 14, 15, and 17--suffered life-threatening injuries and have been transported to local hospitals. Fire officials did not release the age of the fifth person.
Raul Garcia, spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, said all of the victims were transported to either Phoenix Children's Hospital or John C. Lincoln North Mountain.
It was not known where the 15-year-old female was transported to.
The transition ramp from the State Route 51 northbound to L-101 eastbound is closed. DPS expects the closure to be in place for two hours.
