PHOENIX - Hundreds gathered for a Thanksgiving Day feast at Jackson and 10th Avenue Thursday morning.
The event, sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, brought together several volunteers, young and old, and even some professional football players, to help serve a holiday meal to local Phoenicians in need.
The nonprofit served 4,500 plates full of turkey, stuffing, green beans, pies and more. One of the event organizers, and former All-Pro football player Nick Lowery said he loves to see smiles on the faces of those he's helped.
