Phoenix Boys and Girls Club building damaged by monsoon storms

PHOENIX - Tuesday's monsoon storms and the heavy rain that came with it caused part of the roof to collapse at a Phoenix-area Boys and Girls administration building.

According to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix Facebook page , the roof collapse and flooding happened at the Program Support building near 24th Street and Thomas Road.

"We have such a terrific mission so i think the disappointment for us is that we can't do our day to day work that fuels our kids and our programs. So it's just stuff, it's not anything that can't be replaced. We will figure it out. It's really just the time we're losing with raising the money and providing the programs," said Lariana Forsythe.
No kids are housed at this location and it won't cause any immediate program changes to the Club.
Officials are just working to assess the damage and develop a plan to move forward.
