PHOENIX - Authorities say they're investigating two serious accidents in Phoenix Thursday night, one being fatal.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos said around 5 p.m., officers responded to a collision at 16th Street and Highland.
Martos said a woman in her 80's was traveling westbound on Highland and ran the red light at 16th Street. She then collided with a vehicle traveling northbound, said Martos.
Police said the woman coded while on scene, however once she arrived at an area hospital, medical staff were able to revive her.
Martos said even though his initial report indicated she had died, the woman is currently listed in extremely critical condition.
The second accident happened near 32nd Street and Cheery Lynn Road.
Martos said a vehicle was traveling northbound when they struck a female pedestrian.
Police said the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
Martos said the pedestrian is believed to have been in her 40's.
None of the victims have been identified at this time.
