PD: Suspect sought in Phoenix armed robbery of Family Dollar Store

PHOENIX - Authorities need help identifying a man accused of robbing a Phoenix store at gun point.

According to Silent Witness, a male walked into a Family Dollar Store at 6:37 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3 near 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street and pointed an assault rifle at two female employees.

The suspect demanded the employees open the register and hand over money, said Silent Witness.

The suspect then fled the store in a red or maroon 4-door sedan, according to the report.

The man is described as a 20-25-year-old male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 pounds.

He was wearing a grey "hoodie," armed with an assault rifle and had a thin mustache, according to the report.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-948-6377. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for the identity and arrest of the person involved.
