PD: Phoenix church pastor faces charges in sex cases

PHOENIX - The pastor of a central Phoenix church has been arrested for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with at least four females over the past six years.

Phoenix police say the 47-year-old man faces charges of molestation of a child, sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and sexual assault.

According to police, detectives found two adult and two juvenile female victims between the ages of 12 and 33.

Reportedly the pastor became involved in sexual conduct with the victims against their will during counseling sessions or other occasions when he was alone with them.

The incidents occurred between 2007 and 2013.

All the victims were associated with the church located near 21st Avenue and Sherman Street.

The pastor was arrested at his west Phoenix home on Thursday. Police said he denied the allegations.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and are asking anyone with further information to call The Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.

ABC15 is not identifying the suspect as he has not yet been formally charged.
