PHOENIX - A busy Phoenix street has reopened after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Police saod the victim, a man in his 50s, was crossing in a crosswalk using a walker when he dropped something and stopped to pick it up.
He was about half way across the street and when he continued on he was struck by the vehicle, according to police officials.
Authorities reopened 19th Avenue and Indian School Road shortly after 4 p.m.
Police said the driver remained on scene and has been cooperating with authorities. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
