PHOENIX, AZ - Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Phoenix Wednesday night.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said the accident happened around 7:30 p.m near 16th Street and Bethany Home Road.
Martos said the man was crossing eastbound Bethany Home Road against the light when a northbound vehicle hit him.
Martos said the car's driver claims she did not see the man crossing the road.
Police said the man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time.
