PD: Pedestrian dead after hit by 3 vehicles in Phoenix hit-and-runs

PHOENIX - Police say a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by three vehicles Wednesday night in Phoenix, with two of the drivers fleeing the scene.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said the 39-year-old victim was struck as he crossed mid-block just after 8 p.m. on 27th Avenue near Bethany Home Road.

A vehicle described as an older, faded red Nissan Sentra, fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian, Martos said.

A second vehicle, a minivan, also struck the pedestrian, but that driver stayed at the scene, he said.

Martos said the third vehicle, a yellow Nissan Sentra also hit the victim and left the scene north on 27th Avenue.

The victim was critically injured and died at the scene, Martos said.
