PHOENIX - Officials are investigating after a body was found near a north Phoenix canal.
According to Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, officers responded to 47th Avenue and Cholla Street around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night after getting reports of shots fired.
Officers responded to the scene but did not find anything.
Officials received a call 30 minutes later from an individual who found a man's body in a canal bank in the same area, Thompson said.
Officials believe the man is in his late teens to early 20s.
No other information has been released.
