PD: Man stabbed in central Phoenix

PHOENIX - Officials are investigating after an early morning stabbing in Phoenix.

According to Phoenix Police, the stabbing happened near 15th Avenue and Camelback Road on Friday morning.

Police said a man and woman were walking down the street when another man approached them and started flirting with the woman.

The man told the stranger to leave her alone. The two of them got into an altercation and the male stranger stabbed the man, police said.

The victim is in extremely critical condition.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a white shirt with a cowboy hat and boots.

Police were able to recover a cowboy hat the scene.
