PHOENIX - A father was booked into the Maricopa County jail Wednesday for allegedly using methamphetamine to calm his 11-week-old baby.
According to court documents, Christopher Telles, 24, crushed a rock-like form of meth at 4 a.m. on April 27 and gave it to his baby because the infant was crying and wouldn’t go to sleep.
Three hours later, the baby was taken to the hospital by his parents because he appeared to be suffering from seizures.
A day later, Telles confessed to crushing the meth at his apartment. He told officials that he crushed the drug with his thumb and gave the baby the meth that was on his thumb.
Telles faces one count of child abuse.
