PHOENIX - Police say a man is dead after a shooting in central Phoenix.
Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said officers were called about a shooting near 16th and Van Buren streets around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived they found a 27-year-old male shooting victim lying on the ground and administered first aid.
As other officers began searching for the suspect, they put him in a patrol car and took him to nearby paramedics for treatment. The man died from his injuries.
Detectives are now working to identify the suspect and determine exactly what happened.
