PHOENIX - Authorities have arrested a man on multiple counts of child pornography after numerous photos and videos were confiscated from his home.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson, spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, said Christopher Michael Regenold, a registered sex offender, was arrested Thursday morning at his home near the intersection of Grand and 13th avenues and McKinley Street.
Thompson said Regenold admitted to police that he had images of child pornography and knew it was wrong.
Regenold served jail time in 2005 in Arizona for luring a minor for sexual exploitation, said Thompson.
The 48-year-old was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a class 2 Felony and a Dangerous Crime Against Children, according to police.
Police also said that letters and correspondence between Regenold and women in Japan and the Philippines were found inside the apartment.
The suspect reportedly told the women to visit him and asked that they send him pictures of their children, according to a police report.
Police said information that led to the search warrant came from the California Homeland Security Investigations Team.
