PD: Arrests made after shots fired at Cesar Chavez High School basketball game in January

PHOENIX - Detectives have identified and arrested individuals involved in a shooting that occurred at Cesar Chavez High School in January .

Numerous shots were fired in the incident, but no one was injured. Police have not released the identities of the suspects at this time.

Chief of Police Daniel V. Garcia and Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery will hold a briefing Thursday at 2 p.m. with updated information about the investigation, said Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department.

Cesar Chavez was playing Betty H. Fairfax in a rivalry boys' varsity basketball game when the shooting occurred. Police said the shooting happened in the 2nd quarter of the game. No one was injured.

The Phoenix Police Department’s Gang Enforcement Unit began investigating the crime immediately after the incident, Martos said.

Cesar Chavez High School is located near 39th Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix.
