PD: Arrest made in case involving luggage stolen from Sky Harbor Airport

PHOENIX - Police say they have made an arrest in a case involving luggage stolen from Sky Harbor Airport.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said 38-year-old Ryan Prato was taken into custody in early December.

Martos said Prato had previously been arrested in November 2011 for the theft of golf clubs at the airport.

When investigators went to speak to Prato about the recent airport burglaries he was found in possession of stolen property.

At the time, Prato was on probation for the 2011 arrest.

Prato's arrest follows an investigation of thefts that were reported over several months late last year.

Last November, Martos told ABC15 that authorities typically get one report a month of a piece of luggage stolen, but that after September 2013 the number of reports had increased significantly.

At the time, police released surveillance photos of four suspects. Matos said Pratos was seen carrying a newspaper in the photograph.

There was no word on arrests of other suspects.
