PD: 1 shot outside Phoenix Fry's grocery store

PHOENIX - Police are investigating after a shooting outside a Phoenix Fry's grocery store.

Phoenix police Sgt. David Albertson said officers responded to the incident that happened at 19th and Glendale avenues around 6:30 p.m.

Albertson said it began with a verbal argument that became physical just outside the front entrance.

He said the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a couple of rounds, striking the victim. No bullets made their way into the store.

The male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Albertson.

The male suspect left the scene in a vehicle and was found by officers a couple of miles away.

Albertson said a female was also being questioned but was being uncooperative.
