PD: 1 dead after shooting at Phoenix apartment complex

PHOENIX - One person is dead after a shooting in Phoenix on Wednesday night.

According to Phoenix police, the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near 48th Street and Broadway Road.

Neighbors called police reporting gunshots fired in the area. When authorities arrived they found a 23-year-old male in a grassy area near the pool of an apartment complex.

The man was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries, police said. They have not released his name.

Police say witnesses reported seeing two black males between 18 and 22 years old running from the area. It is unknown if they were involved in the shooting.
