PHOENIX - On Tuesday morning "Mickey the Pitbull" will find out if he is going to a new home.
A court hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at Phoenix Municipal Court.
Earlier this year a judge ruled that Mickey could avoid being euthanized if his lawyers found a suitable home.
Mickey's attorney John Schill said he is going to recommend Mickey go to Sheriff Joe Arpaio's jail facility.
Arpaio is expected to testify during Tuesday’s hearing.
"Mickey the Pitbull" gained national attention after mauling a 4-year-old boy in February.
The dog’s attorney argued that Mickey should not be euthanized because the child wandered into his area and was not being watched by adults.
4-year-old Kevin Vicente received serious injuries to his face during the attack, including a broken jaw and eye socket.
During the hearing, Schill said he will recommend that some of the money that would be used to defang Mickey be given to the 4-year-old instead.
