Mesa police involved in deadly Phoenix shooting

PHOENIX - A man wanted in connection with a domestic violence case was shot and killed in Phoenix Friday night.

The shooting happened around 7:50 p.m. near Central Avenue and Dobbins Road.

Phoenix police spokesman Steve Martos said U.S.Marshals were attempting to serve a domestic violence warrant to a suspect at this location.

According to Martos, the suspect had a weapon and police shot him and killed him.

Mesa police spokesman Tony Landato said the agency's Violent Offender Unit was involved.

No officers were injured during the incident.
