Mark Grace DUI: Former Diamondbacks player plans to work with youth after 4 month jail sentence

PHOENIX - Former Diamondbacks slugger and broadcaster Mark Grace said his time behind bars has been "life changing."

"I deserve to be here," he told reporters during a news conference from inside Tent City.

Grace was picked up for two DUIs in a 15 month period. His punishment is to spend his nights in the Maricopa County jail for four months.

Grace sat next to Sheriff Joe Arpaio during the news conference, where they both announced that Grace would be working with MCSO sponsored youth programs once his sentence is complete.

"It doesn't matter what you did," he said, "if you break the law you're coming here."

Grace will talk to the children about baseball and big mistakes.

He is expected to be released on June 10.
