PHOENIX - A man trimming trees at an apartment complex died Friday evening shortly after paramedics rushed him to the hospital.
The Phoenix Fire Department says an adult male was stuck by a branch and pinned into a tree around 3:30pm.
The victim was able to remove himself from the tree, and onto a rooftop with help from bystanders at the scene.
Phoenix police told ABC15 the man was in the tree with a running chainsaw when part of the tree collapsed. He lost control of the chainsaw which then hit him.
When fire officials arrived at the scene they provided advance life support on the rooftop, and transported him to a trauma center where he died.
The man, who neighbors believe was in his 20s, also lived at the complex with his father.
Investigators believe the incident to be an accident.
