Woman in wheelchair hit and killed in Phoenix

PHOENIX - A woman in a wheelchair is dead after a car hit her in Phoenix on Monday night.

According to officials, a woman was driving north on 32nd Street around 10:30 p.m. when she hit 51-year-old Rebecca Randall crossing the street in a wheelchair south of Thomas Road.

Phoenix police said Randall was not crossing in a crosswalk when she was struck.

The 40-year-old female driver stayed at scene. There are no signs of impairment or excessive speeding.

The driver is not facing any charges at this time.
