Make-A-Wish kid gets dream trip to Disneyland

PHOENIX - A Valley 8-year-old returned to Phoenix on Sunday after a dream trip to Disneyland.

Kayci, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008, finished her treatments this year and couldn’t wait to head to Disneyland with her family to meet Rapunzel, Cinderella and Belle.

Before leaving for the Magic Kingdom, Kayci said she’d wanted to go all her life and couldn’t “wait to see where the princesses live.”

Her wish was granted by Make-A-Wish Arizona and they were there to welcome her home on Sunday.

Make-A-Wish says it has almost doubled the number of wishes granted in only two years to a record 330.

The upcoming year marks the 35th anniversary of Make-A-Wish which was founded in Arizona by a group of volunteers who helped one boy have his one true wish before he died, according to a press release.

Kayci said she also went to Universal Studios, the beach and picked up a few trinkets at a store.
