Jodi Arias trial: Travis Alexander's best friend says Arias is guilty of murder

PHOENIX - Shaun Alexander was Travis Alexander's best friend. They just happen to have the same last name and were both with girls named Jodi.

"He said, 'Hey man, if I end up marrying her, our wives will have the same last name.' I said, they may have the same name, but they won't have the same character. Turns out, that was the last thing I ever said to him," recalls Shaun.

He said no one approved of Jodi, but Travis was head over heels for her anyway.

"He kind of grew up as the fat kid and lost a bunch of weight. Then, he was better looking and had success.  She's very sexual, very easy to see how a virgin at 31 ... it's not going to last too long with a girl like her," Shaun said.

Shaun vividly remembers the day Jodi found out about Travis' murder. He admits, for a split second, he thought she was innocent.

"She was freaking out, in full breakdown mode, bawling hysterically, freaking out, she didn't know what was going on ... and it was compelling," he said.

But Shaun said the second Jodi admitted to killing Travis in self-defense, he knew she was guilty of murder.

"It's weird seeing how sinister she is, how empty she is, I guess, that's a better word ... she's so detached and calculated and everything feels so planned," he said.

And, based on the girl his best friend dated, he said the Jodi Arias you see in court is a total act.

"She's an actress across the board. She's whoever Travis wanted her to be," Shaun said.

Shaun also said Jodi's accusations that Travis was a pedophile are completely false.

He said she can make up whatever lies she wants because he's not here to defend himself.
