PHOENIX - Court was unexpectedly canceled Thursday afternoon in the Jodi Arias trial.
The sentencing phase was expected to begin at 1 p.m. in downtown Phoenix.
ABC15 crews at the courthouse said attorneys and families of both Arias and the victim, Travis Alexander, were in the courtroom when the cancellation was announced.
No reason has been given at this time.
Arias was convicted of first degree murder Wednesday in the death of her former boyfriend, Alexander, in his Mesa home.
Court officials said by email that Thursday's court proceedings have been sealed.
Court documents obtained by ABC15 read in part, "Ms. Arias requests that any and all victim impact evidence be presented via videotape so as to prevent any unpredictable outbursts that interfere with the rights due Ms. Arias..."
An ambulance showed up around the same time of the cancellation after a man fell down in the lobby. It was not related to the trial.
