PHOENIX - Jodi Arias sat stone-faced in a Phoenix courtroom Wednesday afternoon as she heard the jury's decision regarding aggravating factors in the death of her one-time lover.
The jury found the prosecution did prove the June 2008 killing was committed in an especially cruel and heinous manner.
The decision leaves Arias, 32, eligible to be sentenced to the death penalty.
Arias appeared to fight back tears most of the morning but showed little emotion when the decision was announced. Afterward she chatted with her attorneys.
The penalty phase will resume Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
