Homeowner burned in Phoenix house fire

A fire that started in a car quickly spread to a home in central Phoenix injuring the homeowner. 

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a vehicle caught on fire in the carport of a home near 23rd Avenue and Osborn Road right after midnight. 

The fire then spread to the home; the homeowner was burned after trying to rescue his three dogs. Only two dogs were located by fire officials, the third dog is unaccounted for. Firefighters used a FIDO bag to give oxygen to the two dogs that were rescued. 

The man was taken to a hospital in stable condition for his minor burns. 

The fire is currently under investigation.
