A Valley AAA tow truck driver is being hailed a hero after rescuing a man trapped under a car.
Officials said Travis Brown was on his way to work April 6 when he witnessed a single-vehicle accident on State Route 51.
AAA spokeswoman Michelle Donati-Grayman said Brown worked his way to the scene and found the driver of the car trapped underneath the wreckage, barely breathing.
Brown grabbed a jack from his truck and was able to pry the man out and keep him alert until first responders arrived on scene.
"He was just a stranger that jumped in and decided to help. He's an angel," said the victim's grandmother Crystal Hodges. "It's a miracle that there are people like that in this world."
"My supervisors called me in to work that day for overtime," Brown said. "I don't consider myself a hero; I was just in the right place at right time."
And get this, once first responders arrived and took over, he went back to work helping more drivers in the Valley.
AAA Arizona and the Phoenix Fire Department will honor Brown with the Citizen Lifesaver Award on April 26.
