PHOENIX - A 25-year-old Los Angeles man accused of attacking the driver of a Greyhound bus and causing it to go off Interstate 10 in Arizona pleaded not guilty Wednesday in a Phoenix courtroom.
Authorities have said Maquel Morris struck the driver and attempted to take control of the steering wheel on Jan. 23.
The incident happened at 1:45 a.m. while the bus was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near Tonopah.
The bus went into the median before passengers helped the driver regain control.
Morris faces numerous charges in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Those charges include assault and endangerment.
His next court date is an initial pretrial conference scheduled for April 1.
