PHOENIX - Summer’s on the way and it’s time to make sure your vehicle is in top shape as Valley temperatures heat up.
Frank Leutz, with Desert Car Care of Chandler shared advice on making sure your car survives the summer’s heat:
- Check all the rubber hoses under the hood, making sure they’re not bulging. They should be replaced every 50,000 – 60,000 miles.
- Check your radiator for leaks and make sure you have the right mix of anti-freeze. If the vehicle’s cylinder heads overheat, it can cause the engine head to crack and cost you plenty.
- If the engine does overheat, ask your mechanic to do an engine block test to check for any deep engine damage.
