PHOENIX - International travelers coming into Sky Harbor Airport will now have an easier time getting through customs.
Twelve new Automated Passport Control kiosks will speed up the customs entry process for travelers arriving from outside the United States.
Travelers will find shorter wait times and faster customs processing times, according to airport officials.
Travelers will be able to use the APCs instead of filling out a declaration card and taking their travel documents to a Customs and Border Protection officer.
They will follow on-screen instructions and answer customs declarations questions on the APC. Then a confirmation receipt will be printed before proceeding to a CBP officer to finalize processing.
They are free to use and currently available to U.S. and Canadian citizens.
The APCs will be available to travelers from visa waiver countries and legal permanent residents in the future.
