PHOENIX - Officials have released the planned routes for the funeral processions of a Phoenix police officer and a firefighter who died last weekend.
Phoenix firefighter Bradley Harper's funeral began at 2:30 p.m. at Christ's Church of the Valley at 7007 W. Happy Valley Road.
The procession after will travel from the church to Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren Street.
The procession will travel south on 67th Avenue, get on State Route 101 going east, enter Interstate 17 going south, exit at McDowell Road, travel down McDowell until reaching 27th Avenue and finally go south until reaching the cemetery.
Harper's procession is expected to last until 7 p.m. and cause significant traffic delays on all included roadways.
Officer Daryl Raetz's funeral procession will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is also expected to cause significant traffic delays.
It will also begin at Christ's Church of the Valley, travel south on 67th Avenue, get on SR 101, then exit at Seventh Street and travel north before turning on the SR 101 Frontage Road and exiting at the Phoenix Memorial Cemetery at 200 W. Beardsley.
Raetz was killed last weekend in a hit-and-run while conducting a DUI investigation. Harper also died over the weekend while fighting a mulch fire.
