PHOENIX - Frontier Airlines is laying off hundreds of workers, including some in Phoenix.
Spokeswoman Kate O'Malley said in an e-mail that the decision was made to outsource all non-Denver locations that are currently internally staffed.
Operations in Denver will continue to be staffed by Frontier employees.
O'Malley said approximately 28 stations will be affected, including employees in Phoenix.
The number of displaced employees will be helped through natural attrition, internal transfers or retirements.
O'Malley said the company will work with vendors to make sure Frontier employees have a chance to apply for jobs with the selected vendors.
The vendors will get the same Frontier training as current station employees have, according to O'Malley.
