Need a flu shot? The best deal is to check with your doctor to see if you can get it for free with your insurance.

If not, here are some options.

Flu shots are between $19 and $38 (for different versions of the vaccine) at Costco for those not enrolled in their health program. Shots are available during pharmacy hours. Learn more on Costco's website.

Flu shots are $28 at many Fry's Food Stores and Kroger stores around the country. The pharmacist there said many insurance companies are paying for the flu shots and they can check for you. No appointment necessary.

Safeway is charging $30 for flu shots at many locations. If you get a flu shot at Safeway, they'll give you a coupon for 10 percent off your groceries.

At Walgreens, flu shots are $31.99 at many locations. A pharmacist said most insurance companies are covering the full cost of a flu shot. They will check for you.

CVS stores are also offering flu shots. When you get a flu shot at one of their locations, you will receive a 20 percent off shopping pass.
